A Pennsylvania healthcare system is seeking a Gastroenterologist for locum coverage including 7-day blocks and weekend call. The provider will perform GI procedures, inpatient consults, and participate in 24-hour call coverage.
This assignment offers structured block scheduling with anesthesia support and no ERCP or EUS required, making it ideal for general GI coverage.

Job Responsibilities
- Perform general GI procedures
- Provide inpatient consult coverage
- Participate in 24-hour call rotation
- Manage weekend GI coverage
- Provide OR-based endoscopic procedures
- Conduct rounding and patient management
- Collaborate with anesthesia and hospital staff
- Document encounters using Epic EMR
Qualifications
- MD or DO required
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
- Active Pennsylvania license or willingness to obtain
- DEA required
- Minimum 1 year experience required
- ERCP and EUS not required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Working Hours
Schedule Options:
7-day blocks (Monday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM)
Weekend coverage (Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM)
Shift Details:
10-hour days with call coverage
OR start time: 7:30 AM
Call:
24-hour call during assigned coverage blocks
Coverage Needed:
1 week per month plus weekends
