Seeking a BE/BC Gastroenterologist to join a thriving digestive health program as a GI hospitalist in a growing community in northern IL.


Position Details & Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Build a leading GI program serving a primary market of 350,000 and secondary market of 750,000
  • Provide inpatient GI consults for gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreatic diseases
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP (if trained), sigmoidoscopy, paracentesis, and PEG tube placement
  • Manage acute GI conditions such as GI bleeding, pancreatitis, severe IBD flares, biliary obstruction, and hepatic encephalopathy
  • Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and ensure smooth post-discharge transitions
  • Collaborate with a comprehensive interdisciplinary cancer team and participate in teaching, weekly tumor boards, and clinical trials
  • Participate in weekend, night, or holiday call rotations as scheduled
