Job description
We are seeking a Locum Gastroenterologist to join their team in a 622-bed facility. This role focuses on inpatient responsibilities within a patient-focused network, providing advanced care with the support of a collaborative team of APPs.
-Schedule: 24-hour call; 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM (On-site for 8 hours).
-Location: Des Moines, IA.
-Team: 1 Physician and 2 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
-Charting: EPIC EMR.
Job Responsibilities
-Perform specialized procedures including Colonoscopy, EUS, and ERCP.
-Manage an average daily hospital census of 10–12 patients with APP rounding support.
-Participate in 24-hour call rotations.
Qualifications
-Fellowship: Must be Fellowship Trained in Gastroenterology [REQUIRED].
-Licensure: Active Iowa License or Active IMLC (Letter of Qualification required at submission) [REQUIRED].
-Credentialing: Clean malpractice/background history; NPDB report pulled within the last 30–90 days [REQUIRED].
-Experience: Must be experienced and proficient in EUS & ERCP.

-Coverage Dates: June 12 – June 19, 2026, plus additional ongoing dates.
-Availability: Locum Tenens

-Strong inpatient clinical management skills.
