Locum Gastroenterologist Needed | 1 Week/Month Coverage | Flexible Schedule | New York

A healthcare facility in New York is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens opportunity providing 1 week per month of coverage starting as soon as credentialed through December 2026.

This role offers a balanced mix of inpatient consults, rounding, and endoscopic procedures, with strong support from an experienced clinical team.

Assignment Details:
• Coverage: 1 week per month
• Start: As soon as credentialed
• Assignment Length: Through December 2026
• Schedule: Typically 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Call: Call coverage required during assignment week
• Setting: Hospital-based inpatient coverage with elective procedures

Clinical Responsibilities:
• Perform Endoscopy (EGD) and Colonoscopy procedures
• Manage inpatient GI consults and rounding
• Provide care for elective and urgent/emergent GI cases
• Conduct procedures in the morning with patient consults/rounding in the afternoon
• Handle approximately 40 procedures per week (mix of elective and urgent cases)
• Manage around 10–15 inpatient consults

Support & Environment:
• Nurse Practitioner support available
• Minimal oversight required for inpatient NP
• Collaborative clinical team environment
• EMR: EPIC
• Level III trauma facility

Requirements:
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
• Gastroenterology fellowship required
• Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
