A healthcare facility in Plattsburgh, New York is seeking a Locum Gastroenterologist to provide inpatient gastroenterology coverage including consults, procedures, and on-call services.
This opportunity offers a balanced mix of endoscopic procedures, inpatient rounding, and consultative care, allowing the physician to work alongside a collaborative multidisciplinary team with advanced practice provider support. The provider will perform diagnostic and therapeutic GI procedures while utilizing the Epic electronic medical record system for documentation.

Job Responsibilities
• Conduct colonoscopy and upper endoscopy procedures
• Provide inpatient GI consults and clinical evaluations
• Round on hospitalized gastroenterology patients
• Manage treatment plans for gastrointestinal disorders
• Respond to urgent or emergent GI procedures when required
• Collaborate with advanced practice providers and clinical staff
• Document patient care using Epic EMR
Qualifications
• Completion of Gastroenterology Fellowship
• Active State Medical License or ability to obtain
• BLS and ACLS Certifications required
• PALS Certification preferred
• Experience performing endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures
Working Hours
• Coverage: Approximately 1 week per month
• Daily Schedule: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Call Coverage: Includes select 24-hour call shifts
• Typical Coverage:
o Monday – Thursday: Procedures and inpatient consults
o Friday – Sunday: 24-hour call coverage
