📍 Position Overview

🔹 Provide inpatient gastroenterology coverage along with elective procedures
🔹 Perform diagnostic and therapeutic GI procedures in a hospital setting
🔹 Manage inpatient consults and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
🔹 Work alongside APP/NP support staff for coordinated patient care
🔹 Utilize Epic EMR for efficient clinical documentation

⏰ Schedule & Coverage

🗓 Assignment Dates: May 18, 2026 – December 31, 2026
📅 Coverage Needed: Approximately 1 week per month
🕢 Daily Schedule: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
📞 Call Coverage: Yes – includes select 24-hour call shifts

💡 Typical Day Example

• Morning: Endoscopic procedures (elective and urgent cases)

• Afternoon: Inpatient rounding and GI consults

📅 Potential Weekly Coverage Model

• Monday – Thursday: Procedures + inpatient consults

• Friday – Sunday: 24-hour call coverage

(Flexibility is available based on provider availability.)

🔬 Procedures & Clinical Duties

The provider will be responsible for performing:

🧪 Endoscopy
🧪 Colonoscopy
🏥 Inpatient GI consults
📋 Patient rounding and treatment planning
🚨 Urgent or emergent GI procedures when needed

📊 Average Workload

• ~40 procedures per week (mix of elective and urgent)

• 10–15 inpatient consults

👥 Minimal oversight of inpatient NP when required

✅ Requirements

✔ Board Certified / Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
✔ Gastroenterology Fellowship Required
✔ Active BLS & ACLS Certifications
✔ PALS Certification
✔ Comfortable performing endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures

📚 Orientation

✔ 16 hours of orientation provided to ensure familiarity with hospital workflows and systems.
