Job description
Hospital-based Gastroenterologist with Advanced Endoscopy training needed for locum coverage at a Level II Trauma Center in the Northeast region. This role focuses on advanced endoscopic procedures including ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound, along with inpatient gastroenterology consult coverage.
The provider will support a hospital GI service with daytime coverage and scheduled call responsibilities. Interventions are typically performed within 24 hours, and there is no requirement for immediate call response.
This is an excellent opportunity for fellowship-trained gastroenterologists looking for flexible locum coverage in a well-supported hospital environment.
Job Responsibilities
Provide inpatient GI consults and follow-up
Manage hospital-based gastroenterology cases
Coordinate care with hospital medicine, surgery, oncology, and critical care teams
Participate in scheduled on-call coverage
Provide advanced endoscopy services in a hospital-based setting
Qualifications
Board Certified in Gastroenterology
Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship training required
Experience performing ERCP and EUS
Active state license or ability to obtain via IMLC
Active DEA and CSR
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Working Hours
Approximately 40 hours per week
Scheduled on-call coverage
Interventions typically performed within 24 hours
