Premier Medical Group / Gastrointestinal Institute is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Gastroenterologist to join our well-established, physician-led gastroenterology practice in Central Illinois. This is a full-time, employed position offering a high-volume referral base, strong clinical support, and an excellent quality of life.

Job Responsibilities
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a full spectrum of gastrointestinal conditions in the outpatient clinic
Perform endoscopic procedures including:
Diagnostic and screening colonoscopy
Upper endoscopy (EGD)
Biopsy, polypectomy, hemostasis, and other routine therapeutic interventions
Develop and manage individualized treatment plans using evidence-based medicine and best clinical practices
Interpret diagnostic tests, pathology results, imaging, and laboratory findings
Provide appropriate follow-up care, patient education, and preventive counseling
Collaborate closely with advanced practice providers, nursing staff, anesthesia, and support teams to ensure efficient and safe patient care
Participate in shared call coverage and provide consultative services as needed
Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant medical documentation within the electronic health record
Comply with all clinical quality standards, regulatory requirements, and accreditation guidelines
Engage in quality improvement initiatives and practice-based performance improvement activities
Contribute to a collegial, team-oriented practice culture focused on patient satisfaction and clinical excellence
Optional participation in advanced procedures or subspecialty interests, depending on training and preference
Opportunity to assist in mentoring, teaching, or collaborating with fellows, APPs, or clinical staff as desired
Qualifications
Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.
Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate specialty(ies). Obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges.
Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs.

Skills
Broad clinical competence in general gastroenterology with the ability to manage complex and chronic GI conditions
Strong procedural skills in upper endoscopy and colonoscopy, including therapeutic interventions
Commitment to evidence-based medicine and high-quality, patient-centered care
Excellent diagnostic reasoning and clinical decision-making abilities
Efficient time management and organizational skills in both clinic and procedural settings
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary care team, including physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing, anesthesia, and administrative staff
Clear, professional communication skills with patients, families, and referring providers
Comfort with high patient volumes while maintaining quality and attention to detail
Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation standards
Adaptability and willingness to engage in practice growth, workflow optimization, and quality improvement initiatives
Professional demeanor with a strong sense of accountability and integrity
Interest in long-term practice stability and building lasting patient relationships within the community
Subspecialty training or interest (e.g., hepatology, IBD, motility, advanced endoscopy) welcomed but not required
