A leading medical center in Des Moines, Iowa is seeking an Inpatient Locum-to-Perm Gastroenterologist starting October 2025. This hospital-based opportunity includes 24-hour call coverage and a mix of inpatient procedures, outpatient procedures, and consultative services.
The position focuses on adult patient care with ERCP required and EUS highly preferred.
Job Responsibilities
• Participate in 24-hour call rotation (7a–7a)
• Perform 3–4 outpatient procedures per day
• Conduct inpatient procedures and GI consults
• Perform ERCP procedures (required)
• Perform EUS procedures (highly preferred)
• Manage adult patient population
• Utilize Cerner EMR
Qualifications
• Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible (within 3 years of residency) – Required
• Active Iowa License or IMLC – Required
• ACLS Certification – Required
• ERCP – Required
• EUS – Highly Preferred
• Clean malpractice and background – Required
• COVID Vaccination – Required
Working Hours
• 24-hour call (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
• Hospital-based inpatient coverage
