Gastroenterology Physician Requirements

• Board Certification: Required (Board Eligible considered)
• Licensure: Active Michigan medical license required at submission
• DEA: Verbal confirmation required at name clear
• ACLS: Required
• Experience: Minimum 2–3 years post-fellowship gastroenterology experience
• Procedure Requirement: ERCP required
• Credentialing: Clean background with no actions required (minimum malpractice acceptable)
• Additional: COVID vaccine required

Responsibilities

• Provide hospital-based gastroenterology coverage, including endoscopy and inpatient GI consults during scheduled hours (7:00 AM–4:30 PM)
• Perform GI procedures with a strong emphasis on ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)
• Support endoscopy coverage for a high-volume schedule (outpatient and inpatient scopes as needed)
• Provide 24-hour weekend call coverage (weekends only; no weeknight call)
• Document care in Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nursing, and ancillary services to support daily operations and patient flow
