We are seeking an experienced Locum Gastroenterology Physician for hospital-based 24-hour call coverage in Bismarck, ND. This is a high-impact, short-term locum opportunity with a procedural focus and strong support staff, ideal for GI physicians looking to maintain broad scope and ERCP proficiency. Coverage is needed during late November and late December/early January.
Job Responsibilities
• Provide 24-hour GI call coverage (7a–7a)
• Perform inpatient rounding and GI consults
• Conduct GI procedures including upper and lower endoscopy
• Manage acute GI bleeds and hospitalized GI patients
• Perform ERCP procedures (highly preferred)
• Document care using EPIC EMR
Qualifications
• Board Certified in Gastroenterology
• Active or pending North Dakota license (IMLC accepted)
• BLS and DEA required
• Strong experience in General GI
• ERCP experience strongly preferred
• Clean malpractice history and recent NPDB Self-Query
Working Hours
• 24-hour on-call shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
• In-house rounding and procedures for approximately 8 hours
• No clinic responsibilities
• Coverage blocks in late November and late December
Skills
• Proficiency in endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, PEG, banding)
• Management of acute GI bleeding
• Inpatient GI consultative care
• ERCP procedural skills
• Independent clinical decision-making in solo coverage setting
