Job description
A North Dakota hospital is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for inpatient call coverage. This is hospital-based coverage only — no clinic responsibilities.
Coverage Windows
• November 23–29 (ending morning of 30th)
• December 23 – January 3 (ending morning of 4th)
Schedule
• 24-hour call coverage
• In-house rounding for approximately 8 hours daily
• Rounding time flexible based on patient volume
• Solo coverage during assignment
Practice Setting
• Hospital-based
• No outpatient clinic
• EMR: EPIC
Clinical Volume
• 1–2 ERCPs per week (Highly Preferred)
• 1–2 scopes per day
• 1–2 new consults per day
• 5–6 inpatient rounding patients per day
Required Procedures
• Colonoscopy
• Biopsy
• Polypectomy
• Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
• Hemorrhoidal banding
• Upper GI Endoscopy
• PEG placement
• Esophageal variceal banding
• Management of acute GI bleed
• Dilation
• Management of hospitalized GI patients
ERCP experience strongly preferred.
Support
• RN and CRNA support in endoscopy
• No NP/PA support
• No supervision of other providers
Credentialing
• 60–90 days preferred
• Board Certified – Required
• State license (pending accepted; IMLC considered)
• BLS & DEA – Required
• NPDB self-query (within 30 days of submission) – Required
• Clean malpractice history preferred
