  • Other details: The facility which is trauma level 2 is looking for a provider to cover on-site clinical hours and call if needed. There are an average of up to 12 for procedures. Less inpatient per shift. The Gastroenterology locum provider will be required to cover several dates, including orientation and shifts from 7 AM on 3/26 to 7 AM on 3/30, 6/12 to 6/15, and 12/11 to 12/14. The schedule includes Monday to Friday, 9-hour shifts with an hour lunch, 8 billable hours, and a 15-hour overnight call shift. Weekend call will be 24 hours. The provider must be proficient in ERCP and handle various procedures such as EGD, colonoscopy, pH studies, manometry, sigmoidoscopy, and PEG/PEG-J tube placement. Preference is given to those skilled in ERCP/EUS. The locum will work independently, with no scribe, and must handle all charting, review pathology, and coordinate follow-up communications with nurses regarding patient results. The assignment includes complete block coverage and requires full availability for the specified dates. The provider must also be familiar with Cerner, gGastro, and Athena systems.

Job Responsibilities

* Provide locum coverage for the specified dates, including orientation and scheduled shifts.
* Perform ERCP, EGD, colonoscopy, pH studies, manometry, sigmoidoscopy, and PEG/PEG-J tube placements.
* Work independently without a scribe, handling all charting and documentation.
* Review pathology reports and coordinate follow-up communications with nurses about patient results and recommendations.
* Provide 24-hour weekend call and 15-hour overnight call shifts.
* Ensure full availability for the specified block coverage dates.

Qualifications

* Proficient in ERCP, with additional skills in EUS preferred.
* Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology.
* Experience in performing various gastroenterology procedures, including EGD, colonoscopy, pH studies, manometry, sigmoidoscopy, and PEG/PEG-J tube placement.
* Familiarity with Cerner, gGastro, and Athena EHR systems.
* Ability to work independently and manage patient care without a scribe.

Working Hours

* Shifts from 7 AM on 3/26 to 7 AM on 3/30, 6/12 to 6/15, and 12/11 to 12/14.
* Monday to Friday: 9-hour shifts with an hour lunch (8 billable hours).
