Required Skills:
  • Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology
  • Proven experience performing advanced endoscopic procedures including ERCP, EUS, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and liver biopsies
  • Proficiency in interpreting esophageal manometry and performing esophageal dilatation
  • Knowledge of adult hospital and outpatient care settings
  • Ability to work independently and manage procedures efficiently
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR system
  • Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with Sengstaken-Blakemore tube management
  • Prior work in a hospital call environment
  • Additional certifications in advanced endoscopy or related fields
  • Bilingual abilities to better serve diverse patient populations

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Medical degree from an accredited institution
  • Residency and fellowship training in Gastroenterology
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting
  • Proven track record of performing complex gastroenterological procedures

Other Requirements:
  • Active medical license in Virginia or eligibility for licensure
  • Ability to commit to specified dates, including potential urgent need for coverage
  • Willingness to travel within assigned regions; reimbursement covers lodging and travel expenses
  • Flexibility to work 24-hour call shifts, including holidays, with rates up to $9,000 during holiday coverage

This position offers an hourly pay rate of $19.50, with opportunities for additional earning through on-call and holiday rates.
