We are actively seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens assignment in Jackson, Michigan. This opportunity is based in a high-volume outpatient digestive health center offering comprehensive gastrointestinal care supported by an experienced clinical team.
The position focuses on scheduled outpatient procedures and clinic-based gastroenterology services, with access to advanced GI technology and a streamlined workflow. This is an excellent opportunity for gastroenterologists seeking predictable weekday shifts, no call responsibilities, and a procedure-focused practice.Job Responsibilities
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic GI procedures
• Conduct colonoscopies, upper endoscopies (EGD), and ERCP
• Perform advanced GI procedures as clinically indicated
• Evaluate and manage gastrointestinal disorders
• Review patient histories and develop treatment plans
• Collaborate with nursing and clinical support staff
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system
• Ensure adherence to clinical quality and safety standards
Qualifications
• Fellowship-trained in Gastroenterology
• Active Michigan medical license or ability to obtain
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to perform outpatient and hospital-based GI procedures
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Recent NPDB self-query report
• Clean malpractice and professional background
Working Hours
• Mondays and Fridays
• Day shifts: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• No night, weekend, or on-call responsibilities
