We are seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens inpatient gastroenterology assignment in Lakewood, Colorado. This opportunity is ideal for experienced GI physicians with strong procedural skills, including ERCP and EUS, who are comfortable managing complex inpatient consults in a high-acuity trauma setting.
This role offers 24-hour in-house call coverage with a manageable patient census, strong hospitalist and intensivist support, and a collaborative care environment. The assignment is well-suited for gastroenterologists looking for consistent locum work with advanced procedures and modern clinical infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures
• Conduct ERCP and EUS procedures
• Manage GI bleeding, abdominal pain, and acute GI conditions
• Evaluate and treat complex gastrointestinal disorders
• Collaborate with trauma, intensivist, and hospitalist teams
• Review imaging and laboratory findings to guide treatment plans
• Document patient encounters accurately using EMR
• Participate in 24-hour call coverage as scheduled
Qualifications
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Gastroenterology Fellowship
• Active Colorado medical license or eligibility via IMLC
• Active DEA registration
• Demonstrated experience with ERCP and EUS
• Strong background in inpatient gastroenterology
• Ability to manage high-acuity and trauma-related GI cases
• Clean malpractice and professional background
Working Hours
• Approximately 5–7 days per month
• Ongoing locum assignment
• Weekend coverage included
• No outpatient clinic responsibilities
