A Level I hospital-based GI service in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a Board Certified or truly Board Eligible Gastroenterologist for locum tenens coverage beginning February 16. This opportunity offers scheduled block coverage with inpatient GI responsibilities, advanced procedures, and temporary privileges available.

Credentialing: Temporary privileges offered

Day Coverage: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Monday–Friday)

Weeknight Coverage: Night beeper call (Monday–Friday)

Weekend Coverage: 24-hour beeper call

Will consider physicians able to work a minimum of 7 consecutive days per month

This position requires comprehensive inpatient GI coverage, including advanced and therapeutic procedures.
Required Procedural Experience-
ERCP – Required (minimum 150 performed in the past 2 years)

EUS – Required
-
Esophageal, duodenal, or luminal stent placement (minimum 20 in past 2 years)
-
Diagnostic and therapeutic EGD
-
Colonoscopy with or without polypectomy
-
100 performed in past 2 years at initial appointment
-
150 required at reappointment
-

Flexible sigmoidoscopy
-
Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy
-
Enteral alimentation
-
Esophageal dilation (balloon, bougie, or Savary with guidewire)
-
Argon plasma coagulation
-
Nonvariceal hemostasis (upper and lower)
-
Biopsy of esophagus, stomach, small bowel, and colon
-
Foreign body removal and polypectomy
-
GI motility studies and 24-hour pH monitoring
-
Performance of history and physical exams
-
EMR: Epic
-
Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Gastroenterology – Required
-
Active Ohio medical license – Required (willing to license; IMLC preferred)
-
DEA – Required
-
Minimum Experience: 1 year
-
Must review Moderate Sedation educational packet
-
Must complete post-test with ?80% accuracy
-
Proof required at initial appointment

Must maintain current ACLS
