A Virginia hospital is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to provide hospital call coverage due to a lack of coverage. This is a procedure-heavy role with strong support, Epic EMR, and premium 24-hour call rates.

📍 Practice Setting

• Hospital-based call coverage

• Adult patients

• Outpatient Gastroenterology & Internal Medicine required

• Lab & X-ray onsite

• No trauma designation

• EMR: Epic

• 2/23 – 2/27 (Mon 7a – Fri 7a)

Additional Coverage Needed:

• 4/3 – 4/6

• 5/1 – 5/4

• 5/4 – 5/8

• 6/29 – 7/3

• 7/31 – 8/3

• 8/17 – 8/21

• 9/7 – 9/11

• 9/11 – 9/14

• 10/12 – 10/16

• 10/16 – 10/19

• 10/19 – 10/23

• 12/21 – 12/25 🎄

• 12/25 – 12/28

• 12/28 – 1/1

• 1/1 – 1/4

📌 Must be available for at least one open shift to be considered

💼 Case Mix & Procedures

• Average ~8 procedures/week

• Colonoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy, EGD

• ERCP (REQUIRED)

• EUS (Preferred)

• Liver biopsy, small bowel biopsy

• Esophageal dilation & manometry

• Upper GI bleeds, variceal banding/injection

• PEG placement

• Sengstaken–Blakemore tube management

• Lodging reimbursed

• Standard/economy travel bookings

✅ Requirements

• Board Certified Gastroenterology

• Active Virginia license – REQUIRED

• ERCP experience – REQUIRED

• EUS – Preferred

• Clean malpractice history (required for temp privs)

• NPDB Self-Query (dated within 30 days)

• Flu shot – Required

• COVID vaccine – Highly preferred
