Locums – Columbus, Ohio, Gastroenterology Opening (IMLC Accepted – Willing to License)
We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Gastroenterologist for a high-demand locum tenens opportunity at a Level I hospital in Columbus, Ohio. This assignment offers full-time coverage potential, a strong procedural mix, and the opportunity to practice in a well-supported, high-acuity hospital environment using EPIC EMR.

IMLC accepted with willingness to assist in Ohio licensure

Full-time coverage need with flexible minimum commitment

Well-established GI department with strong clinical infrastructure

Start Date: June 15

Initial Coverage Block: June 15 (7:00am) – June 22 (7:00am)

Ongoing Need: Full-time coverage
-
Will consider physicians able to work a minimum of 7 consecutive days per month

Day Shift: 7:00am – 3:00pm
-
Call:
-
Night beeper call Monday–Friday
-
24-hour beeper call on weekends
-

Full-time coverage preferred; flexible scheduling considered

Adult patient population
-
EMR: EPIC
ERCP required (minimum 150 in the past 2 years)
Additional required experience includes:
-
Esophageal, duodenal, or luminal stent placement (20 in past 2 years)

Diagnostic and therapeutic EGD
-
Colonoscopy with or without polypectomy
-
Documentation of 100 in past 2 years at initial appointment
-
150 required at reappointment
-

Biopsies of esophagus, stomach, small bowel, and colon
-
Argon plasma coagulation
-
Nonvariceal hemostasis (upper and lower)
-
Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy
-
Flexible sigmoidoscopy
-
GI motility studies and 24-hour pH monitoring
-
Enteral alimentation
-
Esophageal dilation (balloon, bougie, or savary)
-
Foreign body removal and polypectomy
-
EUS and ERCP – required
-
Performance of history and physical exams
-
Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
-
Active Ohio license or willingness to obtain (IMLC preferred)

DEA – Required
-
ACLS – Required
-
Minimum 1 year of experience

Moderate Sedation requirements:
-
Review educational packet at initial appointment
-
Complete post-test with ?80% accuracy
-
Maintain current ACLS certification
