We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Locum Physician specializing in Gastroenterology to provide exceptional care through scheduled 24-hour call coverage. required Skills:
  • Valid medical license in Michigan or eligibility to obtain
  • Board-certified or eligible in Gastroenterology
  • Proficiency in ERCP procedures
  • Strong diagnostic and procedural skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and handle 24-hour call shifts effectively

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience in hospitalist support settings
  • Familiarity with outpatient GI clinics
  • Previous experience providing coverage in small-town or community hospital environments

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Medical degree (MD or DO)
  • Completion of a GI fellowship program
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience in Gastroenterology
  • Prior locum or interim coverage experience is advantageous

Other Requirements:
  • Schedule includes Monday 7 am to Friday 7 pm call; no weekend call
  • On-call coverage includes 8 hours of in-house support and night call from Monday through Thursday
  • Coverage periods through 2026, with specific dates and shifts outlined
  • Must be comfortable performing ERCP procedures
  • Valid medical license and relevant certifications required
  • Travel and lodging expenses reimbursed within specified policy limits; rental vehicle refueling required before return; hotel arrangements must avoid third-party booking sites
  • Rate to include malpractice coverage, orientation, on-call stipends, holiday pay, and any applicable conversion fees; hourly rate to be submitted accordingly
