We are seeking a Locums Gastroenterologist Physician to provide hospital-based coverage in Richmond, Virginia. This opportunity is ideal for a board-certified gastroenterologist looking for consistent weekend call coverage with a low patient volume in a well-supported hospital setting.
Position Details
- Practice Setting: Hospital-Based
- Schedule: 24-hour call (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m.)
- Coverage Need: 12 days per month, primarily weekend coverage
- Call Type: 24-hour call coverage each day
- Average Patient Volume: 3 patients per day
- EMR: Meditech
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient gastroenterology consults and call coverage
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage GI-related conditions
- Perform procedures as clinically indicated
- Collaborate with hospitalists, nursing staff, and ancillary teams
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the EMR
Requirements
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Active Virginia medical license (or ability to obtain)
- DEA and CSR (or ability to obtain)
- Prior inpatient GI and call experience preferred
