Locum Gastroenterologist (GI)

Location

Bay City, Michigan area (Hospital-Based Coverage)

Schedule

• Monday 7:00 AM – Friday 7:00 PM call

• No weekend call

• Coverage structure:

  • Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM (24-hour coverage)

  • Friday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour coverage)

Coverage Blocks

• March 30, 2026 – April 3, 2026

• July 27, 2026 – July 31, 2026

• September 28, 2026 – October 2, 2026

• December 28, 2026 – January 1, 2027

• Ongoing coverage needs through 2026

Practice Environment

• Hospitalist support available

• 2 colorectal surgeons in the community

• GI clinic located less than 0.5 mile from hospital

• Community setting with waterfront lifestyle and small-town atmosphere

• ERCP required

Required Qualifications

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology – REQUIRED

• Active Michigan Medical License – REQUIRED

• ERCP experience – REQUIRED

• DEA – REQUIRED at start

• Clean malpractice history – REQUIRED (no exceptions)

• NPDB self-query (within 30 days) – REQUIRED

• Local providers preferred (no flight coverage)

• IMLC accepted only if dates are 60+ days out with LOQ

Submission Requirements

• Rates and availability must be submitted at time of presentation

• Reverse billing system (electronic clock-in/out – no paper timesheets)

• All credentialing and compliance documents required at presentation

Employee Health Requirements

• Flu vaccine (current season)

• COVID documentation or declination

• TB (2-step skin test within 12 months or Quantiferon within 6 months)

• Hep B (titer or declination)

• MMR (vaccine series or titers)

• Varicella (vaccine series or titers)

• TDAP (within last 10 years)
