Board-Certified Gastroenterologist Locum Needs in MI!

ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking Board-Certified Gastroenterologists to provide ongoing 24-hour call coverage. This is a long-term locum opportunity with coverage needs extending through 2026, offering weekday-only call in a supportive hospital environment. The role includes ERCP responsibilities and access to strong hospitalist and surgical support.

Dates / Schedule

• Coverage timeframe: Ongoing through 2026

• Call schedule:

  • Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM (24-hour call)

  • Friday: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour call)

  • No weekend call

Scheduled coverage blocks include:

• March 30, 2026 – April 3, 2026

• July 27, 2026 – July 31, 2026

• September 28, 2026 – October 2, 2026

• December 28, 2026 – January 1, 2027

Job Details & Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient GI consults and call coverage

• Perform ERCP procedures (required)

• Participate in weekday call coverage with defined gratis hours

• Collaborate with hospitalist team and two colorectal surgeons in the community

• Utilize GI clinic located less than 0.5 miles from the hospital

• Accurately clock in/out using Doc Time (reverse billing system)

• Participate in orientation and required online modules

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Board Certified Gastroenterology (BE not accepted)

• ERCP experience (required)

• Active Michigan medical license (IMLC accepted only if dates are 60+ days out with proof of LOQ)

• DEA registration active at start

• No malpractice history (required)

• NPDB self-query (within 30 days)

• Ability to meet reverse billing/timekeeping requirements

Employee Health & Certification Requirements:

• Flu vaccine (current season)

• COVID documentation or declination

• TB testing (per guidelines)

• Hep B, MMR, Varicella (vaccines or titers)

• TDAP (within 10 years)
