Director of Digestive Health opening in Conway, SC The organization is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as the Physician Director of the Digestive Health service line. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Digestive Health in the community by leading a well-established program into its next phase of growth. The Physician Director will play a key role in providing world-class patient care, expanding clinical services, mentoring providers, and elevating patient-centered care across the service line. The Digestive Health program is focused on continued growth and strengthening services, and is seeking a leader to help take it to the next level.

Position Details Diagnose and treat a wide range of gastroenterology conditions Provide exceptional, patient-centered care Lead and mentor physicians, APPs, and digestive health nurses Improve and enhance clinic workflows Ensure high-quality, evidence-based care Develop and launch new treatment services and community outreach initiatives Engage in strategic planning to expand the Digestive Health service line Benefits Details Base Salary + WRVU Bonuses Base Salary: $700,000 (based on experience; increased base negotiable) Medical Director compensation provided via annual stipend or reduced RVU threshold $40,000+ signing bonus Income potential up to $1 million Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance Supplemental insurance options (disability, accidental, cancer, life) Retirement plans with employer match (4% match with 6% contribution) Student loan repayment eligible through PSLF CME allowance: - 5 days off annually - $3,000 per year - Licensing and dues covered Malpractice insurance provided Flexible scheduling and generous paid time off Position Details Standard office hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Protected administrative time: 8+ hours per week Shared call schedule: 1:4 rotation (transitioning to 1:6 with recruitment) Telephone-only call supported by after-hours nurse triage Half-day Fridays Light call rotation with APP coverage Each physician supported by a designated RN EMR: Cerner Current Staffing 4 Physicians 3 APPs 1 Inpatient APP onboarding Recruiting 3 additional physicians in 2026 80% lab / 20% clinic Clinic volume: 20–25 patients per day Procedure volume: 11–12 patients per day Consults and rounding performed by on-call physician Endoscopy Services 180 and 190 HD scopes Brand-new C-Arms 7,000+ cases annually Advanced Procedures Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound) - 236+ cases annually, growing ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) - 187+ cases annually, growing NEW: Capsule Endoscopy Conditions Treated Liver disease Gallbladder disease Pancreatic disease Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract Facility Details 4 procedure rooms 8 holding rooms (pre- and post-operative) Single-site setup: ASC, clinic, and hospital fully integrated Imaging and diagnostics: - PET scanning - 64-slice CT - 3-D mammography - Breast MRI - High-definition endoscopy and bronchoscopy Bi-weekly tumor boards: breast, PCC, GI, ENT Surgical referrals include breast, colorectal, and vascular Bone marrow transplants referred to MUSC or Roper St. Francis ACGME accredited - Medical students - Family Medicine Residency - Transitional Year - Sports Medicine Fellowship Research aligned with Duke (access to ~450 protocols) Currently submitting for American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer accreditation Group Details The organization is a state-of-the-art healthcare system with over 95 years of service to the community and a strong reputation for clinical excellence in South Carolina.
