Position Overview:
A leading hospital in Denver is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for locum coverage in a high-acuity inpatient setting. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team, including 24/7 intensivists and hospitalists, managing adult, geriatric, and adolescent patients in a Level 1 trauma center.
Responsibilities:

Provide full-spectrum gastroenterology consults and inpatient care

Perform ERCP, EUS, endoscopy, and evaluation of GI bleeds

Admit and manage 8โ10 new patients per day with follow-ups

Collaborate with trauma, hospitalist, and ICU teams

Document thoroughly in EPIC EMR
-
Complete EMR training modules prior to start date
Schedule & Availability:
-
24-hour call shifts (7 AM โ 7 AM)
-
5โ7 shifts per month, ongoing into 2025
-
Holiday and callback coverage available
Requirements:
-
Board-Certified Gastroenterologist
-
Gastroenterology Fellowship
-
Active Colorado license or IMLC
-
Active DEA
-
Ability to perform ERCP & EUS
-
Clean malpractice and background history
-
Able to work at least one of the listed assignment dates and provide ongoing coverage
Preferred:
-
Local or drive-in candidates prioritized as Tier 1 providers

EPIC EMR experience required; please provide details of years of experience, last facility used, and last use date
Travel & Credentialing:
-
Facility will assist with credentialing; standard timeframe 60โ90 days, emergency privileges 1โ2 weeks

Travel arrangements: Airfare reimbursed for non-local candidates; lodging at preferred hotels only
Patient Population:
-
Adults, geriatrics, and adolescents (โฅ15 years old, โฅ50 kg)
-
Trauma consults only; pediatric patients not admitted to GI service
-
8โ10 admissions per shift, 5โ8 scopes per day
