Locum Physician - Gastroenterology in Lufkin, TX

Summary: We are seeking a skilled GI specialist with ERCP capabilities for a reputable inpatient facility in Lufkin, Texas. This role focuses exclusively on in-house and ER consults, with procedures generated from those consultations. The facility is well-equipped with endoscopy trained GI nursing staff, and will support you as you provide essential care to patients.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct inpatient evaluations and care for gastrointestinal patients.
• Perform normal GI procedures including endoscopies and colonoscopies.
• Provide ERCP procedures as required.
• Participate in patient rounding, managing up to 10 patients daily.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
• Handle admissions and consultations in coordination with hospitalists.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified (HIGHLY PREFERRED) or Board Eligible.
• Valid Texas State License (REQUIRED).
• Completion of a Gastroenterology Residency (REQUIRED).
• ACLS Certification (REQUIRED).
• Clean malpractice history (HIGHLY PREFERRED).
• Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation (REQUIRED).
• Availability to work specified weeks per month.

License and Certification Requirements:

• Texas State Medical License (REQUIRED).
• ACLS Certification (REQUIRED).
• Successful completion of residency in Gastroenterology.
