ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a Gastroenterology specialist with ERCP capability to provide inpatient-only GI coverage. This role focuses on in-house consults, ER consults, and procedures generated from those encounters, with no outpatient clinic responsibilities. Coverage is needed due to the departure of a permanent GI provider.

Job Details & Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient GI consults and ER consults with associated procedures

• Perform standard GI procedures including endoscopy and colonoscopy, with ERCP required

• Participate in daily rounding (up to ~10 patients/day, volume varies)

• Manage cases such as abdominal pain, GI bleeds, SBO, food bolus, ulcers, gastritis, and diagnostic evaluation of carcinoma (no treatment)

• Hospitalists admit patients; GI serves as consultant

• Anesthesia support available; conscious sedation preferred when possible

• Supported by endoscopy-trained GI nursing staff

• EMR: Paragon (transitioning to EPIC later in 2026)

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Board Certified (preferred) or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology

• Texas medical license (required)

• Completion of Gastroenterology residency/fellowship (required)

• ERCP proficiency (required)

• ACLS certification (required)

• Clean malpractice history (highly preferred)

• No excessive malpractice suits or medical board discipline (deal breakers)

• Ability to obtain credentialing within 30–60 days (emergency privileges possible with clean file)

• Current NPDB required for presentation

• Willingness to take 24-hour call shifts as scheduled
