Gastroenterology Physician Needed in Columbus, OH

Specialty: Gastroenterology Practice Setting: Hospital Start Date: May 2026

Assignment Dates:

• May 3 (4 PM) – May 11 (7 AM)

• June 15 (7 AM) – June 22 (7 AM)

• July 26 (4 PM) – August 3 (7 AM)

Coverage Needs: Full-time coverage preferred. Physicians able to provide a minimum of 7 consecutive days per month will be considered.

Shift Structure:

• 7 AM – 3 PM onsite

• Night beeper call Monday–Friday

• 24-hour beeper call on weekends

Clinical Details:

• Patient volume: TBD

• Adult patient population

• GI coverage for a Level 1 trauma hospital

• EMR: EPIC

• Hospital size: 434 beds

Required Procedures: ERCP and EUS are required. Additional procedures include:

• Esophageal, duodenal, or luminal stent placement (20 in past 2 years)

• Colonoscopy with or without polypectomy (100 in past 2 years at initial appointment; 150 at reappointment)

• Diagnostic and therapeutic EGD

• Biopsies of esophagus, stomach, small bowel, and colon

• Argon plasma coagulation

• Esophageal dilation (balloon, bougie, or Savary with guidewire)

• Flexible sigmoidoscopy

• Nonvariceal hemostasis (upper and lower)

• Gastrointestinal motility studies and 24-hour pH monitoring

• PEG placement

• Enteral alimentation

• Foreign body removal

Requirements:

• Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Gastroenterology

• Active OH license or willingness to obtain; IMLC preferred

• DEA required

• ACLS required

• Must complete Moderate Sedation education and post-test with minimum 80 percent accuracy

• Minimum 1 year of experience

• Credentialing: Temporary privileges offered
