Locum Gastroenterologist
Seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Gastroenterologist to provide locum tenens coverage in an established outpatient digestive health practice. This role supports ongoing recruitment needs and offers a consistent, weekday-only schedule with no call responsibilities.
Practice Setting & Scope

Outpatient Digestive Health Center

Mix of outpatient and hospital-based GI procedures

Comprehensive gastroenterology care including colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, and advanced GI procedures

Level II Trauma Center

EMR: Epic
-
Collaborative team of 4 physicians plus locums

Fully supported by dedicated clinical staff
Schedule & Coverage
-
Coverage needed ASAP on an ongoing basis

Mondays and Fridays, fixed day shift
-
Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
-
No call, no nights, no weekends
Patient Volume
-
Hospital-based procedures: approximately 14 patients per day

Procedure timing:
-
Colonoscopy: 30 minutes
-
EGD: 30 minutes
-
Double procedures: 60 minutes

Candidate Requirements
-
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology

Fellowship-trained in Gastroenterology
-
Active Michigan medical license (or willingness to obtain)

BLS and ACLS certifications required

Ability to perform outpatient and hospital-based GI procedures, including advanced cases

Familiarity with Epic EMR preferred

Local providers required (mileage reimbursement only)
Credentialing

Estimated credentialing timeframe: 90–120 days
