Is seeking an experienced Gastroenterology Physician to provide ongoing locum coverage following a planned retirement. This is an excellent opportunity for a GI specialist who enjoys inpatient medicine, endoscopy, and a balanced call structure, while making a meaningful impact within a supportive, collaborative environment.
🩺 Practice Overview
- 🏥 Inpatient-focused role covering floor, ED, ICU, and emergent GI consults
- 📅 1 week per month, ongoing coverage
- 📟 Call rotation approx. 1:4 (Friday 4 PM – Friday 4 PM) with overnight beeper call
- 👥 Join a 4-physician GI team
- 📊 Average 4–12 hospital patients per day
- 💻 EPIC EMR for efficient documentation
- 🧪 Onsite lab and X-ray support
🔬 Clinical Scope & Procedures
- Diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower endoscopy
- Colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, small bowel biopsy, liver biopsy
- Management of GI bleeding, variceal banding, PEG placement, foreign body removal
- EUS/ERCP not required (ERCP a plus, not mandatory)
✅ Requirements
- Board Certified / Board Eligible in Gastroenterology (BC preferred)
- Active Massachusetts medical license
- BLS certification
