A Level II trauma center in Canton, Ohio is seeking a Gastroenterologist for locum tenens inpatient consult coverage. This is a purely inpatient role with strong APP support, no outpatient responsibilities, and a manageable consult volume.

Practice Setting Level II Trauma Center Purely inpatient GI consult service No outpatient clinic responsibilities GI physician rounds daily on consulted patients 24/7 call coverage during scheduled assignment

Clinical Volume Average 6–8 consults per day Typical inpatient GI census around 15 Average hospital census approximately 250

Case Mix Bread-and-butter gastroenterology GI bleeds Occasional liver disease No ERCP No EUS

Care Team and Support Sound Physicians serves as the primary admitting service GI provides consultative care only Intensivist team manages ICU/CCU patients APP support available daily for rounding and documentation Surgical and interventional radiology backup available Anesthesia provides sedation for all endoscopic procedures

Technology Olympus scopes (approximately 3 years old) Endoscopy documentation: ProVation Hospital EMR: Epic

Transfers Streamlined enterprise transfer process Most transfers route to CCAG or main campus Transplant evaluations handled at main campus when needed

Requirements Board Certified in Gastroenterology – Required Active Ohio medical license – Required ACLS and BLS – Required DEA – Required Ohio CSR – Required Local providers preferred
