Gastroenterologist Locums Job | Alabama Facility Seeking Two Weeks per Month of GI Inpatient Coverage Starting January + Ongoing

Coverage Need/Schedule:
- Seeking candidates that can offer a minimum of one week per month of coverage starting January 2026 & ongoing
- Duties: will be covering the floor/rounding, seeing new patients & scheduling any emergent procedures/scopes for afternoon block time
- Will do procedures/scopes in the afternoon (cases that have come through the ED and that you've scheduled that day and/or from the day prior)
- Must include 8 hours, Monday-Friday and 4 hours, Saturday-Sunday

--7AM Sunday, February 1 - 7AM Monday, February 9 (8 day stretch)
--7AM Monday, February 9 - 7AM Monday, February 16
--7AM Monday, March 9 - 7AM Monday, March 16
--7AM Monday, March 16 - 7AM Monday, March 23
--7AM Monday, March 30 - 7AM Monday, April 6
--7AM Monday, April 6 - 7AM Monday, April 13
--7AM Monday, April 27 - 7AM Monday, May 4
--7AM Monday May 11 - 7AM Monday, May 18
--7AM Monday, May 18 - Monday, May 24

Details/Requirements Opportunity #112803:
- Active + Unrestricted Alabama Medical License & CSR required (open to IMLC candidates)
- Current Board Certification required
- Must have up to date case logs + references
- Schedule: 24-hour call coverage Monday at 7AM - Monday at 7AM & be expected to work between 8-10 hours per day in the hospital each day
- Facility has a clinic to refer patients to and 2 other staffed GIs at the facility that will be working in the clinic/endo-suite while GI hospitalists handle inpatient ED coverage primarily
- There is 24/7 anesthesia available for procedures (conscious sedation is not required)
- No GI APP support in the inpatient setting currently
- Daily inpatient volume is between 4-10 consults per day (this can vary) + will start out with a lower number of daily scopes but can see up to 4-7 (will likely start out doing less & build up to this number)
- ERCP can be used but is NOT required
- Level 3 trauma designation, 250+ bed facility
