Job Overview
• Job Title: Physician – Gastroenterology
• Job Type: Locum Tenens
• Location: Des Moines, IA
• Service Setting: Inpatient
• Coverage Type: Clinical Only
• Coverage Period: Ongoing – Potential for Long-Term Contract
• Clinical Shift Schedule: On-site coverage two (2) days per week; 16 hours/week (Clinic hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)

Required Procedures
• Colonoscopy via colostomy
• Diagnostic colonoscopy (without biopsy)

• Colonoscopy with ablation of tumor/polyp/lesion
• Colonoscopy with removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by hot forceps
• Colonoscopy with removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by snare technique
• Colonoscopy with submucosal injection
• Colonoscopy with control of bleeding
• Diagnostic EGD
• EGD with biopsy(ies)
• EGD with removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by hot forceps
• EGD with removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by snare technique

Job Requirements
• Licensure: Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine
• ABIM – Internal Medicine with Subspecialty Certification in Gastroenterology
• Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA)
• DEA Certificate: Required
• NPI: Required
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience
Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive inpatient gastroenterology care
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy and EGD procedures
• Deliver high-quality direct patient care (99%) with minimal administrative duties (1%)
• Collaborate with facility staff and specialty teams as applicable
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within CPRS
