Opportunity Overview
A Michigan-based hospital is seeking an experienced Locum Gastroenterologist to provide high-volume endoscopy and daytime consult coverage across several upcoming schedule blocks. This role offers a consistent weekday schedule with strong clinical support and a fully equipped on-site endoscopy suite.
This is an excellent opportunity for a GI physician comfortable with ERCP who is looking for steady weekday work in a well-supported hospital environment.
Schedule & Required Coverage Dates
Full-day coverage Monday through Friday:
7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Open date blocks:

November 22–30, 2025

December 19–28, 2025

January 5–8, 2026
No nights, no weekends, and no after-hours responsibilities.
Clinical Responsibilities

Provide endoscopy coverage in a hospital-based setting

Perform both inpatient and outpatient GI procedures

Manage daytime GI consults during scheduled hours

Support a high-volume procedural environment with established workflows
Daily procedural expectations:
-
Approx. 18 outpatient scopes per day

Approx. 20 inpatient scopes per day
ERCP is required for this assignment.
Facility & Support

Hospital-based GI service line with a fully staffed endoscopy team

Support includes: 2 physicians, 2 APPs, and complete onsite ancillary services

Compensation Structure (Submit Rates)

Hourly Rate: Negotiable and Applied to hours worked (7a–5p)

Orientation/Training: 50% of hourly rate

Holiday Shifts: Paid at 1.5×

Conversion Rate: Include if required
Administrative & Travel Details

Clock in/out via DocTime (paper timesheets not accepted).

Medical staff fees are not reimbursed.

Lodging must follow facility policy (no third-party booking sites).

Facility is tax-exempt (lodging taxes not reimbursable).

Travel reimbursements must comply with facility guidelines (shared upon assignment).
