Coverage: 24-hour Call only (Weekends only)
Coverage Type: Inpatient
EMR: Epic
Clinical Areas: Adult, Hospital, Office/Clinic
Practice Setting: Hospital Call (Saturday and Sunday) - weekends
Required Procedure/Duties:
- Esophageal Dilatation/Manometry
- Esophageal Manometry Interpretation
- Small Bowel Biopsy
- Lower GI Endoscopy
- Sigmoidoscopy
- Colonoscopy
- Liver Biopsy
- Insertion/Management of Sengstaken/Blakemore Tube
- Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
- ERCP required
- Upper GI Endoscopy: with Biopsy, with Foreign Body Removal, with Fulguration of Bleeder (Cautery vs. Laser), with Injection of Varices, with Banding of Varices, with ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography), Diagnostic, Therapeutic, with PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy)
- On average, 8 procedures per weekend: GSI, Hepatology, RGA, Surgery, Colon, Egd, ERCP
Requirements:
- Board Status: Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Active VA State License
- Flu Shot
- Covid Vaccine
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS
Open Dates (Weekends):
All shifts start Friday @ 5:00 PM and end Monday @ 7:00 AM unless noted.
