• Average Procedures: ~8 per weekend (GI, Hepatology, ERCP, EGD, Colonoscopy, etc.)

🩺 Required GI Procedures & Clinical Duties

Providers must be proficient in the following:

Upper GI / Advanced Endoscopy

• EGD with biopsy

• Foreign body removal

• Variceal banding & injection

• Fulguration of bleeder

• PEG placement

• ERCP (diagnostic + therapeutic) — Required

• Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) — Preferred

Lower GI

• Colonoscopy

• Sigmoidoscopy

• Small bowel biopsy

Additional GI Skills

• Esophageal manometry & dilatation

• Manometry interpretation

• Liver biopsy

• Sengstaken/Blakemore tube insertion & management

✅ Required Qualifications

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology

• Active VA license

• ERCP competency required

• EUS experience preferred

• Flu vaccination required

• COVID vaccination highly preferred

• Must commit to listed weekend shifts

• Clean malpractice/background
