Setting: Hospital call + outpatient GI/internal medicine

Trauma: None (no trauma designation)

Average Procedures: ~8 per weekend (GI, Hepatology, ERCP, EGD, Colonoscopy, etc.)

Providers must be proficient in the following:
Upper GI / Advanced Endoscopy

EGD with biopsy

Variceal banding & injection

Fulguration of bleeder

PEG placement

ERCP (diagnostic + therapeutic) β Required

Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) β Preferred
Lower GI

Colonoscopy

Small bowel biopsy
Additional GI Skills

Esophageal manometry & dilatation

Manometry interpretation

Liver biopsy

Sengstaken/Blakemore tube insertion & management
β Required Qualifications

Board Certified in Gastroenterology

Active VA license

ERCP competency required
