Opportunity Overview:
Facility seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Gastroenterologist to join their team for ongoing inpatient GI call coverage. This role offers a steady, predictable schedule of one week per month with strong support resources and no outpatient clinic responsibilities at this time.
Position Highlights:
- Schedule: Fri 4:00 PM – Fri 4:00 PM (24-hour call for 7 days)
- Inpatient consults + emergent endoscopy as needed
- Average patient volume: 4–12 per day
- Coverage includes Floor/ED/ICU consults
- Beeper call overnight
- 4 physicians currently in group
- EMR: EPIC
- Credentialing: Mid–Late December start
- Reason for coverage: Retirement
- Onsite Lab? Yes
- Onsite X-Ray? Yes
Pay Details
- 24 Hour On Call :- $5000 - Flat Pay
Required Procedures:
- Esophageal Dilatation/Manometry
- Esophageal Manometry Interpretation
- Small Bowel Biopsy
- Lower GI Endoscopy
- Sigmoidoscopy
- Colonoscopy
- Liver Biopsy
Required Types of Upper GI Endoscopy:
- with Biopsy
- with Foreign Body Removal
- with Fulguration of Bleeder (Cautery vs. Laser)
- with Injection of Varices
- with Banding of Varices
- Diagnostic
- Therapeutic
- with PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy)
- ERCP/EUS: Not required (nice to have)
Requirements:
- Board Certified/Board Eligible - [REQUIRED] BC preferred
- ACTIVE MA LICSENSE - [REQUIRED]
- No outpatient expectations
- BLS - [REQUIRED]
- ERCP certification is a nice to have but not a must - [NICE TO HAVE]
