About the Role
A well-respected Boston-area community hospital with a strong academic affiliation is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible General Gastroenterologist to join its growing GI service line. This role blends the feel of community-based practice with the resources, collaboration, and prestige of a major academic medical center.
This is an ideal opportunity for a gastroenterologist who enjoys broad-spectrum GI care supported by excellent infrastructure, advanced specialists, and optional academic involvement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient general gastroenterology services
  • Perform routine GI procedures including EGD and colonoscopy
  • Manage general GI conditions (GERD, liver disease, IBS/IBD, GI bleeding, etc.)
  • Participate in rotating inpatient coverage and call
  • Collaborate with a tertiary GI service for complex case referrals
  • Engage in a multidisciplinary environment with APPs, nurses, anesthesia, and hospital leadership
  • Optional academic and professional growth avenues:
    • Teaching students and residents
    • Participation in clinical quality initiatives
    • Research/scholarly collaboration (if desired)
Qualifications
  • MD or DO, ACGME-accredited GI fellowship
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
  • Eligible for a Massachusetts medical license
  • Strong clinical judgment and dedication to high-quality patient care

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine GI procedures including EGD and colonoscopy

Collaborate with BMC’s tertiary GI service for complex cases
Work with a multidisciplinary team (APPs, GI nurses, anesthesia, academic faculty)

Research collaboration with the BMC GI Department

Qualifications

Qualifications
