About the Position

🌟 Opportunity Overview

A busy inpatient hospital in Lufkin, TX is seeking a Locum Gastroenterologist with ERCP capability for 24-hour call coverage. No outpatient work — inpatient + ER consults only.

🗓️ Schedule & Availability

🕒 24-hour call (7a–7a)
📅 Multiple 2026 blocks available, including multi-week stretches (Jan–Dec).
📆 Weekends & call required.

💰 Rate Caps

• 24-hr Call: Up to $3,120/day (includes 4 gratis hours)

• Call Back: $440/hr

• Holiday Call Back: $787.50/hr

🩻 Clinical Scope

• Inpatient GI consults

• Rounding (up to 10 patients/day)

• ER consults

• Endoscopies, colonoscopies

• ERCP required

• Conscious sedation preferred; anesthesia backup available

• Conditions: GI bleed, SBO, abdominal pain, food bolus, gastritis, ulceration, possible carcinoma diagnosis (no treatment)

🖥️ Environment

• Setting: Inpatient only

• EMR: Paragon (transitioning to Epic later in 2026)

• Support Staff: Experienced GI endoscopy nursing

✅ Requirements

• Board Certified/Board Eligible Gastroenterology

• Active TX License

• ACLS Required

• Clean malpractice highly preferred

• GI residency completed

• List availability (weeks/month)

• ERCP experience required

• Must be available at name clear

✈️ Travel

• Lodging & air travel considered

• Preferences based on candidate needs

• 30–60 days

• Emergency privileges possible for clean files
