Join a fast-growing national team as a Remote Medical Director, providing expert medical review and clinical decision support. Youโll evaluate medical records, review complex inpatient cases, and make evidence-based determinations. The role includes collaborating with external providers by phone, contributing to consistent and high-quality utilization review processes, and working closely within a supportive, structured team environment.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct timely and compliant inpatient medical necessity reviews
Ensure alignment with national guidelines, CMS requirements, clinical standards, and internal policies
Communicate determinations clearly in writing and verbally
Maintain productivity, quality, and compliance benchmarks
Participate in structured training, then operate independently with team support
Adapt to evolving workflows, tools, and utilization management practices
Contribute to a team culture focused on consistency, efficiency, and high-quality outcomes
๐ Qualifications
MD or DO degree
5+ years post-residency/fellowship clinical experience (inpatient or Medicare population preferred)
Active ABMS Board Certification
Unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state; willing to obtain additional licenses if needed
Strong written & verbal communication skills
Demonstrated analytical ability and experience in a team-based environment
No federal/state sanctions; able to pass credentialing
Qualifications
Experience in managed care, UM, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, or commercial health plans
Familiarity with MCGยฎ or InterQual
Background in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, Hospitalist, Emergency Medicine, or other inpatient-focused specialties
Comfort using technology to improve workflows
Interest in education, teaching, or presenting
Working Hours
40 hours/week
Includes rotating weekend coverage to ensure timely case decisions
