Aya Locums is working with a hospital in Ohio that needs help with their GI department starting in January 2026. This is an ongoing opportunity.
Job Responsibilities
• Amount of Coverage Needed per Month: need full-time coverage. Will look at physicians that can work a minimum of 7 consecutive days per month
· Patients per day: TBD
· Patient Population/Age: adult
· Department Description: GI coverage for Level 1 hospital
· EMR: EPIC
· Hospital Bed size: 434 beds
Qualifications
Board Certification: Must be BC or truly BE in Gastroenterology
· License Required: OH license – ok to license, IMLC preferred
· DEA: required
· Special Exam: Moderate Sedation: at initial appointment must review educational packet for Moderate Sedation and complete session post-test with at least with at least 80% accuracy. Must provide proof and maintain current ACLS
· Certifications Required: ACLS
· Minimum Experience Required: 1 year
Credentialing Timeframe: temp privs offered
Working Hours
Schedule: need full-time coverage. Will look at physicians that can work a minimum of 7 consecutive days per month
Skills
o ERCP required (150 in the past 2 years)
o Esophageal or Duodenal or Luminal Stent Placement (20 in the past 2 years)
o Performance of history and physical exam
o Argon plasma coagulation
o Biopsy of the mucosa of the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, and colon
o Colonoscopy with or without polypectomy (must provide documentation of performance of 100 within the past 2 years at initial appointment and 150 at reappointment)
o Diagnostic and therapeutic esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)
o Enteral alimentation
o Esophageal dilation with balloon or bougie or savary with guidewire
o Esophagogastroduodenoscopy, including foreign body removal or polypectomy
o Flexible sigmoidoscopy
o Gastrointestinal motility studies and 24-hour pH monitoring
o Nonvariceal hemostasis (upper and lower)
o Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy
