Job Title: Locum Physician - Gastroenterology

Summary:

Join a well-established inpatient facility in Lufkin, Texas, known for its comprehensive healthcare services. We are seeking a Gastroenterology specialist with ERCP capabilities to provide essential care in-house. This role involves no outpatient work, focusing exclusively on inpatient consults and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform inpatient gastroenterology consultations and procedures, including endoscopies and colonoscopies.
• Manage and treat patients with conditions such as abdominal pain, GI bleed, SBO, food bolus, and gastritis.
• Conduct ERCP procedures for diagnosis and management.
• Collaborate with the hospital staff for patient admissions and care coordination.
• Provide on-call services as required, including daily and holiday coverage.
• Work with endoscopy-trained GI nursing staff to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency.
• Document patient care and procedures in the EMR system.

Qualifications:

• Gastroenterology Board Certification (highly preferred) or Board Eligibility accepted.
• Valid Texas State License (required).
• Completion of Gastroenterology Residency (required).
• ACLS Certification (required).
• Clean malpractice history (highly preferred).
• Availability to cover shifts as specified (required).

License and Certification Requirements:

• Texas State Medical License (required).
• ACLS Certification (required).
