A top-tier Colorado hospital is urgently seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to provide 24-hour call coverage beginning in December, with ongoing monthly needs into 2025. This role is ideal for a high-performing GI specialist experienced in managing acute GI conditions in a fast-paced trauma environment. Providers must be proficient in ERCP, with strong procedural and inpatient consult experience.
Facility Type:
Inpatient | Level 1 Trauma | Hospital-Based Consult Service
Orientation: $215/hr
On Call (Daily): $4,000/day
Call Back: $445/hr
Holiday 24-Hr On Call: $250/hr
Holiday Call Back: $680/hr
Job Responsibilities
• Perform GI procedures including:
o ERCP (required)
o EUS
o Endoscopy
o Scoping
• Manage GI bleeds and evaluate complex GI issues
• Handle 8–10 consults/follow-ups per day
• Perform 5–8 scopes daily
• Collaborate with 24/7 intensivists, hospitalists, and trauma care teams
• Complete required EPIC EMR modules and virtual training prior to start
• Participate in credentialing steps including NPDB self-inquiry and EMR setup
Qualifications
• Active CO license or IMLC with LOQ in hand (Required)
• Active DEA (Required)
• Gastroenterology Fellowship (Required)
• Must be able to perform ERCP
• Clean malpractice and background history (Required)
• Must be available for December coverage
• Must acknowledge EMR training requirements and preferred lodging policy
• EPIC EMR experience preferred; details must be provided at submission
Working Hours
• Expected: 5–7 shifts per month, ongoing into 2025
• Weekend call required
• No on-site support staff; consult-only service
Skills
• Strong inpatient and trauma-consult management
• Ability to work independently in high-acuity settings
• Proficiency in EPIC EMR or ability to complete required training
• Effective communication and coordination with multidisciplinary teams
