Locum Gastroenterology Need in Maine

Coverage Needed:

• Start Date: February 9, 2026
• End Date: Ongoing
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour day with 30-minute lunch
• Coverage Type: Inpatient cases required, day call (7am-4pm)
• Specific Dates:
  • February 9, 2026 – February 13, 2026
  • February 16, 2026 – February 20, 2026
  • March 30, 2026 – April 3, 2026
  • April 27, 2026 – May 1, 2026
  • May 4, 2026 – May 8, 2026
  • May 25, 2026 – May 29, 2026
  • June 1, 2026 – June 5, 2026
  • June 22, 2026 – June 26, 2026
  • June 29, 2026 – July 3, 2026

Clinical Details:

• Endo procedures in the OR and possibly one day per week in the clinic
• Adults outpatient (office/clinic)
• 14-16 patients per day in clinic
• Onsite lab and x-ray
• EMR: Epic
• ERCP not required
• Required procedures: Lowers GI Endoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy, Scopes
  • Preferred: Advanced procedures, Therapeutic procedures
  • Required types of upper GI endoscopy: with Biopsy, with Foreign Body Removal, with Banding of Varices, Diagnostic
• Support Staff: Full staff in the OR
  • Anesthesia Support: Both CRNA and an Anesthesiologist per Gastroenterologist
• May get calls from either the Emergency Room or a Hospitalist with questions and possible urgent procedures (I.E Food Bolus and may need EGD or bleeding and may need to ask questions on treatment)
  • call blocks built into the schedule to allow these patients to be added to schedule
• May need to do inpatient consults during the day

Requirements:

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology (ABMS or AOA)
• Institutional ADR - Highly Preferred
• Active ME license or Active IMLC LOQ - Highly Preferred
  • will review licensing candidates of high quality
• Must be available to cover all listed dates
• ACLS, BLS certifications
• COVID and flu vaccines
• Available full-time and long-term
• Available to work at least one week per month for the remainder of the year, and into 2026
