Locum Inpatient Gastroenterologist Needed in NJ!

Duration: 6-month contract
A well-established hospital in Northern New Jersey is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to provide inpatient locum tenens coverage beginning in January 2026. This opportunity offers consistent scheduling, flexible block options, and the chance to work alongside a strong hospitalist and intensivist support team.
Position Highlights
- Schedule: MondayFriday, 8-hour shifts + emergency on-call
- Coverage: 7 days/week, 2 weeks per month
- Setting: Inpatient-only, Epic EMR
- Average Census: 510 patients per day
- Solo provider model with full access to hospital support services
Perform a broad range of GI procedures, including:
- Diagnostic & Therapeutic ERCP
- EGD, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy, and Colonoscopy
- Esophageal Dilation and Stent Placement
- PEG Placement, Paracentesis, and Tumor Ablation
- Management of GI Bleeds, Pancreatitis, and Peptic Ulcer Disease
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Active New Jersey Medical License
- ACLS Certification
- Comfort with inpatient consults and procedures
- Flexible 2-week-per-month schedule
- Established hospital program with strong inpatient support
