Job description
Shift: Day Shift with Call Rotation (1:2 ratio; primarily beeper call)
Description:
- Provide comprehensive evaluation and management of gastroenterology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal procedures as required.
- Manage patient rounding in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
- Ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including registered nurses, medical assistants, advanced practice providers, and office staff.
- Participate in a shared call schedule with a 1:2 ratio, primarily involving beeper call responsibilities.
- Perform upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, and fulguration of bleeder.
- Perform esophageal dilatation and manometry.
- Conduct small bowel biopsy procedures.
- Perform lower GI endoscopy, including rigid and flexible sigmoidoscopy.
- Perform colonoscopy with biopsy and excision of polyps.
- Adhere to all clinical protocols and credentialing standards, with an approximate credentialing timeframe of 90 days.
Experience: Prior experience in inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology preferred
License: Active North Carolina license or IMLC eligible
Certifications: ACLS and BLS required
