Job description
Seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for locum weekend hospital call coverage. Role includes inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology and internal medicine duties with onsite lab and imaging support. Must be comfortable with a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic GI procedures.
Job Responsibilities
Perform procedures including:
Esophageal Dilatation/Manometry & Interpretation
Small Bowel Biopsy, Liver Biopsy
Colonoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy, Lower GI Endoscopy
EUS, ERCP, PEG, and Upper GI Endoscopy (biopsy, foreign body removal, bleeding control, varices treatment).
Manage an average of 8 procedures per weekend.
Document all cases in Epic EMR.
Qualifications
Active Virginia Medical License – Required
Clean malpractice history – Required
Flu vaccine – Required
COVID vaccine – Highly preferred
Must be available for scheduled dates.
Working Hours
24-hour call (includes call-backs)
Skills
Strong clinical judgment and patient management
Familiarity with Epic EMR
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
