๐Ÿ•’ Job Type: Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Gastroenterologist to join our growing team in Utica, NY. This is a full-time, on-site position open to both experienced physicians and new graduates. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to adult patients with gastrointestinal and liver disorders, perform endoscopic procedures, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal and hepatologic conditions

Perform endoscopic procedures, including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, and capsule endoscopy

Manage liver diseases and gastrointestinal disorders in outpatient and inpatient settings

Work one week per rotation as a hospitalist, supported by two mid-level providers

See 12-16 patients per day in both office and endoscopy center settings

Collaborate with anesthesiologists during procedures (Propofol used for sedation)

Participate in shared call coverage

Provide care to adult patients (ages 18-80+)

Maintain accurate documentation and patient records

Note: ERCP and EUS are not required for this position.

Work Environment

Endoscopy Center & Office: Typically 12-16 patients/day

Hospitalist Rotation: Variable patient load, supported by mid-levels

Call: Shared equally among physicians

Hours: Generally done by 4:30 PM

Qualifications

Completion of an ACGME-accredited Gastroenterology fellowship

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine

Proficient in general gastroenterology and hepatology

Skilled in endoscopy and capsule endoscopy

Excellent clinical judgment and patient communication skills

Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team
