Springfield, MA | Inpatient | $316/hour | Start: Mid–December 2025 (Ongoing until permanent hire)
Position Overview
An established healthcare organization in Springfield, MA, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Gastroenterology Physician for inpatient locum tenens coverage. The provider will handle floor, ED, ICU, and emergent consults and endoscopic procedures during a 1-week call rotation. This opportunity is available due to a retirement transition and will continue until a permanent physician is hired.

Average Census: 4–12 patients/day

Lab & Imaging: Onsite Lab and X-ray available

EMR: EPIC
-
Privileges: No temporary or emergency privileges
Compensation

Hourly Rate: $316/hour

Travel & Lodging: Fully covered
Required Procedures
-
Esophageal Dilatation & Manometry
-
Small Bowel Biopsy
-
Sigmoidoscopy / Colonoscopy
-
Liver Biopsy
-
Upper GI Endoscopy (diagnostic & therapeutic):
-
With biopsy, cautery, PEG, banding/injection of varices, and foreign body removal
-
EUS/ERCP not required
Requirements
-
Board Certified or Eligible in Gastroenterology (BC preferred)

Active Massachusetts License – Required

BLS (AHA) – Required
-
ERCP Certification – Optional (Nice to Have)

Inpatient Experience – Preferred

No outpatient clinic duties
