We are seeking a skilled and board-certified Gastroenterologist for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Rockport, Maine. The provider will handle inpatient cases and outpatient procedures in a collaborative hospital environment. This role offers a consistent weekday schedule, no weekends, and no on-call duties.
Compensation and Travel:
- Daily Pay: $3,400 (malpractice included)
- Flight: Economy class only (no first-class travel)
- Hotel: Up to $200/night (after taxes and fees)
- Rental Car: Standard class (no premium/SUV rentals)
- Mileage: Reimbursed at the IRS standard rate
Job Responsibilities
• Manage inpatient consults and procedures during scheduled hours.
• Conduct outpatient clinic visits (approximately 14–16 patients per day).
• Collaborate with hospitalists, emergency room staff, and anesthesia providers.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR.
• Provide patient education and ensure coordinated follow-up care.
Qualifications
• Active Maine medical license or IMLC LOQ (preferred).
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Available to work at least one week per month through mid-2026.
• COVID and Influenza vaccinations required.
• ERCP experience preferred but not required.
Working Hours
• No weekends or on-call coverage.
Skills
• Strong clinical assessment and procedural skills.
• Excellent teamwork and communication within a multidisciplinary care team.
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred.
